Grace Hopper Illustration / Women's History Art Print
This is a print of my illustration of Grace Hopper (1906-1992), an American computer scientist and Navy Rear Admiral. During WWII, she was one of the first programmers of the Harvard Mark I computer. She invented the first compiler for a computer programming language, which led to the invention of the popular COBOL computer programming language. She was also the first woman to earn a PhD in Math from Yale.
Using photographs as reference, I illustrated this digitally using Adobe Photoshop and my trusty Wacom drawing tablet. I print it here at my home studio and it currently comes in three print sizes: 5 x 7 inch (12.7 x 17.8 cm), 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm) and 11 x 14 inches (27.9 x 35.6 cm). Every size is on bright white, medium weight paper.
This is the perfect small gift for someone who is an aspiring computer scientist or a person who just wants a piece of Women's history art to put on their wall.
