Josephine Baker Illustration / Black History Art Print
This is a print of my illustration of Josephine Baker. She was the first Black person to become a world famous entertainer and the first to star in a major motion picture. Originally from St. Louis, she became a citizen of France in 1937. In the US, she refused to perform in front of segregated audiences and she also contributed to the Civil Rights Movement.
Using photographs as reference, I illustrated this digitally using Adobe Photoshop and my trusty Wacom drawing tablet. I print it here at my home studio and it currently comes in three print sizes: 5 x 7 inch (12.7 x 17.8 cm), 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm) and 11 x 14 inches (27.9 x 35.6 cm). Every size is on bright white, medium weight paper.
This is the perfect small gift for the Josephine Baker fan, the early film enthusiast, or the person who just wants a piece of Black history art to put on their wall.
